Beyond One Day: Why Women’s Leadership Still Matters
By Ambreen Jahangir
International Women’s Day may come once a year, but the conversations around women’s leadership, resilience, and impact deserve attention every single day.
As a woman entrepreneur and the CEO of DV8 Communication, I often reflect on how far women have come in business, and how much further we can still go.
Building DV8 has been more than just building an agency. It has been about creating a platform where diverse voices are heard, where ideas are valued regardless of who they come from, and where talent has the opportunity to thrive.
When I started DV8, the vision was clear: create an agency that understands communities deeply and connects brands with audiences in meaningful ways. What I didn’t fully realize at the time was that this journey would also become a testament to what women can accomplish when they lead with conviction, resilience, and authenticity.
Today, DV8 is proud to work with leading brands across Canada, helping them connect with multicultural audiences through strategy, creativity, and cultural insight. Behind that success is a team filled with incredible individuals, many of them talented women who bring perspective, passion, and innovation to everything they do.
Women bring a unique strength to leadership. We balance empathy with determination, creativity with discipline, and vision with collaboration. These qualities are not just valuable, they are essential in today’s evolving business landscape.
International Women’s Day reminds us to celebrate progress, but it also reminds us to continue building environments where women can lead, innovate, and succeed without barriers.
At DV8, supporting women goes beyond a statement. It means creating opportunities, fostering mentorship, and encouraging the next generation of female leaders to believe that their ideas belong in boardrooms, strategy meetings, and leadership roles.
To every woman building a business, pursuing a dream, or finding her voice, your work matters. Your perspective matters. And your leadership matters.
The future of business will be shaped by diverse leaders who bring new ideas, new energy, and new ways of thinking.
And I truly believe that women will play a powerful role in shaping that future.
